"I shot in Colombia The Water Carrier, a period film set in the 1920's. I was able to find locations and towns that had no signs of modern time including no electric cables. I spent no money to have incredibly real and high production values for my film."
"I shot at Chingaza National Park, and was surprised how easy and inexpensive was to shoot there. The locations for The Water Carrier were all in Bogotá or within an hour drive from there. Bogotá is a modern eight-million people city where you can find any equipment or technician you could dream of."
"The story of Jose Gregorio takes place in Heaven and Earth. When thinking how to represent Heaven I chose to set it in one of the most beautiful places in planet earth. The Páramo is a unique ecosystem where the high Andes mountains are near the Equator, where you often see fields of clouds underneath the mountain tops."
Patricia Cardoso, Los Angeles-based Colombo-American director, on her experience filming in Colombia after living abroad for many years.
