Franco-Colombian Production "Operación E" Filmed in Colombia

Colombian production company El Bus Producciones provided production services
Spaniard Luis Tosar (Celda 211, 18 comidas) and Colombian Martina García (La cara oculta, Rabia) star in Operación E, a film shot in Colombia by Franco-Spanish director Miguel Courtois Paternina. This political adventure-thriller tells the story of a humble but brave man who single-handedly fights the factual powers in a frenetic struggle for survival and to maintain both his family and his integrity. The film is based on the true story of Emmanuel and the peasant who hid the sick child in his home before abandoning him at a medical center, only to discover later that the boy was the child born to Clara Rojas while she was captive alongside former Colombian presidential candidate Ingrid Betancourt. Operación E was produced by Tormenta Films (Spain), Zircozine (Spain ) and A.J.O.Z. Films (France) and was filmed entirely in Villavicencio (Meta) using a 95% Colombian crew and cast.

Documentary Project "Sobre Ruedas América Latina" to Feature Five Stories From Colombia

The series includes 18 stories from five different countries and continues receiving proposals
Five Colombians, three from Bogotá, one from Santa Marta and one from Medellin, have been included in the documentary series Sobre Ruedas América Latina portraying the lives of people who discovered or invented their own way of earning a living on the streets of five different Latin American countries. The thirteen 26-minute episodes filmed in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Cuba and Mexico present sustainable, creative ways of earning a living on the streets and highlight the original survival strategies of those whose professional activities rely on human traction vehicles (VTH). The series attempts to establish a relationship between the movement of the wheel and the inconstancy of life, especially the lives of those with no steady employment who must remain creative and capable of improvising in order to guarantee their daily bread. The project was awarded an Ibermedia Project Development Fund grant and a consultancy with the International Program for Documentary Training (PICDOC) from the Brazilian Association of Independent Producers (ABPITV).

Luis Tosar en la alfombra roja de los Goya 2011

So far, the experience in Colombia has been wonderful. A film as "Operacion E", shot guerrilla style, in the sense that we have to go fast, shoot rapidly, and solve things on the run. Some things would take longer time, but the budget of the film is limited and we have to work it out. So, we all knew a-priori that it would be a hard film, a film where each one of us would have to sacrifice, to put a lot of effort. That is a plus here, and much of it is given by the people. We are very few from Spain, 99% of the actors are local, and the Colombian crew is a high percentage, only Miguel (the Director) that is from France, and from Spain, which is the double value of this film, the rest are locals and it's been amazing to have this team, it's been great!
